Structure determination, thermal stability and dissolution rate of δ-indomethacin

چکیده

The structure solution of the δ-polymorph indomethacin was obtained using three-dimensional electron diffraction. This form shows a significantly enhanced dissolution rate compared with more common and better studied α- γ-polymorphs, indicating biopharmaceutical properties for medicinal applications. solved in non-centrosymmetric space group P21 comprises two molecules asymmetric unit. Packing molecule conformation closely resemble methyl ester methanol solvate. Knowledge allowed rational interpretation spectroscopic IR Raman data tentative still unsolved polymorphs. Finally, we observed solid–solid transition from to α-polymorph that can be driven by similarities molecular conformation.
